Her goal is to go back to school for a master’s degree in counseling and eventually work as a school counselor. Previously, she worked in a residential facility for teens where she facilitated different groups (self-esteem, self-identity) with an emphasis in DBT. During her free time, she likes to walk, paint, hang out with friends/family, and travel. Katie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo while minoring in Child Development.

Trained Odyssey House alumni volunteers who have graduated from treatment to independent living are also available to provide you with ongoing coaching and support. Known as the Odyssey House Recovery Oriented Care System (or OHROCS), the peer-to-peer program provides you with a lifetime recovery network to help you overcome everyday challenges and achieve your long-term personal, family, and career goals. He states, “I work in the behavioral health field because I see the impact mental health disorders and Substance Use Disorder have on the everyday person. I am passionate about helping others and want to be part of the solution – helping them find their way back to happiness and stability.“ In his free time, he reads, travels, and volunteers to be of service to others. The treatment process begins with the primary therapist conducting a comprehensive assessment that, upon permission from each client, includes consultation with the client’s prescriber, psychotherapist, significant others, and other service providers. Our experienced psychiatrists oversee all treatment, conduct psychiatric evaluations, and provide careful medication management as needed.

It was the first publicly funded adolescent treatment unit featuring a full-service residential high school, family and individual therapy, and vocational services. As you prepare to complete our residential treatment program, a housing specialist can work with you to find a safe, affordable place to live. Odyssey® eFileCA allows users to easily open court cases and e-file documents to a number of California courts anytime and from anywhere — 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. E-filing court documents significantly streamlines the case filing process and provides benefits to both the filer and the court. Since then, we have constructed four new apartment buildings on abandoned sites in East Harlem and the Bronx, each built to our own exacting design and construction standards. Our newest housing program is about to get underway in Harlem, where we are replacing two abandoned brownstones with 21 mixed-use, single occupancy apartments, 15 for people in recovery from mental illness and six for people with low incomes. Our integrated, personalized residential treatment programs focus on your total well-being and include medical and dental care, health and fitness programs, cultural and recreational activities, education and job support, day care, and other services. Our clinical team creates intensive treatment plans that allows each client to explore new ways to enjoy life.

While working towards her undergraduate degree, Katie interned at a local crisis hotline where she found her passion for helping others. After graduating, Katie began working as a recovery coach and mental health worker at Reasons Eating Disorder Center and Monte Nido’s Clementine facility. Here, she learned from amazing clinicians and eventually continued her education at Pepperdine University, Graduate School of Education and Psychology receiving a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Once you complete your program, we’ll work with you to find transitional or permanent housing. And you can always depend on Odyssey House for peer-group support and outpatient services to help you maintain the life you desire for your family—without drugs or alcohol. Sean is a Case Manager with five years of addiction/behavioral health treatment experience. He has previously worked with Residential, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, Private and Medi-Cal funded treatment programs.

Our Outpatient Services center also provides ongoing counseling and support for individuals who have completed our residential program. These programs—provided by our Outpatient Services center in the Bronx—can help you obtain the treatment and counseling you need while continuing to maintain your everyday life. In 1973, Odyssey House led the treatment field with the first residential center to help addicted parents and their children. Early childhood development counselors and a medical staff attended to the young families, guiding their recovery and providing the necessary skills for parenting in a safe, drug-free environment. A second center opened in 1994 also offering a fully equipped nursery, preschool, and outdoor playground on-site. In 1970, three years after its inception, Odyssey House opened the Teen Leadership Center in response to the pressing epidemic of drug-troubled youths.

Before working in the behavioral health field, he conducted data analysis and research for ad agencies and entertainment companies. Jason possesses a strong psychodynamic and person-centered therapeutic style, along with the integration of Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Fundamentally, he believes his work is to be a liaison to help people achieve lasting improvements and make healthy adaptations in their lives.

The first of its kind, the program offers residential and outpatient treatment and has helped more than 1,500 seniors in recovery successfully re-integrate into their communities. We know that clients have a lot of choices when it comes to finding an outpatient treatment center, and that picking the right one for them can feel overwhelming. At Clearview Outpatient – Los Angeles, we hope to make their decision less overwhelming by offering individualized, compassionate treatment for a variety of mental health disorders and dual diagnosis.

Success at these centers established Odyssey House as the national prototype for family-centered substance abuse services and earned it the reputation for setting the standard of excellence in the treatment field. Today, as many as 180 mothers and young children are in residential treatment, making Odyssey House one of the largest treatment system for families in the country. Family Center services are slated to relocate to a renovated residential treatment site on Wards Island by end of 2016. Odyssey House treatment programs for adults employ evidence-based treatment services, including Motivational Enhancement Therapy; Trauma, Recovery and Empowerment; and Nurturing Parent Program for Families in Substance Abuse Treatment and Recovery. Katie began her clinical work at Exodus Recovery in their high acuity locked inpatient unit. From there, she began as a primary therapist at Destinations for Teens where she worked with adolescent clients in a residential setting.

Odyssey House provides affordable drug and alcohol assessments to fully satisfy any legal requirements. Families and friends who have a loved one struggling with addiction can attend this group regardless if their loved one is in our care. As an Odyssey House client, you’ll become a member of a community of compassionate support for life. In this video, Dr. Shannon Marshall breaks down the different levels of outpatient care and further expands on the type of support you can expect. Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Vanguard University of Southern California.

Next, Katie moved to Ascend Healthcare and learned to utilize ecotherapy while working with neurodivergent adolescents in a residential setting. Her time at Ascend taught her to be creative with her approach and utilize various modalities to address clients’ needs. Most recently, Katie was a primary therapist at Shoreline Eating Disorders, where she worked at residential and outpatient clinics with adults and adolescents. She worked for just over a year as a Clinician with the Westside homeless full-service partnership (FSP) team, driving all around Los Angeles serving the homeless population. She gained valuable experience in crisis management, assessment, and diagnosis working there.
